G.I. Joe The Great American Hero!

Hero is defined as any person, esp. a man, admired for courage, nobility etc., the central male character in a novel, play, etc.

The year is 1964, that’s the year that the GI Joe action figures first hit the shelves, and now 40 plus years later they steal maintain their appeal. Why is the GI Joe Franchise so popular? In today’s society a high demanding toy is birthed when they represent characters from a blockbuster hit movie, but G.I. Joe action figures acquired fame and popularity before the movie (G.I. Joe The Rise of Cobra), and unlike your typical “super hero”, GI Joe characters have no super natural powers, but rather superhuman.
I think there sustained popularity is due to what they represent, and that is strength, power, honor, and bravery just to name a few. These are all qualities that most male and some female individuals desire to have. For some, including myself, G.I. Joe action figure help us to reflect upon, and remember those elite individuals who sacrifice their lives to serve and protect our precious country.
Today the G.I. Joe action figure is designed with great articulation, and with exceptional detail. The 12” scale action figures are designed with facial expressions that show tiredness, intimidation, and great concentration. Their bodies are designed with detailed muscle definition, and supremely fit figures. These guys have been properly trained and are ready to battle.
Because of what it symbolizes and represents the The G.I. Joe action figure is an excellent imaginative toy for young kids, as they provide a way to role play the typical “good guy versus bad guy” concept. Find G.I. Joe Action Figures and other great role playing toys at amscollectibles.com
